Professional Bio
Catherine Grace Hannibal, Esq. is the principal family and divorce Mediator and Collaborative Attorney with Grace Family Mediation (currently on sabbatical). Previously, Catherine was associated for close to a decade with Mediation Works, Inc. a premiere boutique family mediation and Collaborative practice based in Brooklyn Heights, NY (founded in 1998), where she served clients primarily in Manhattan and Westchester.
Catherine was an Adjunct Professor (2012-2018) and Supervising Attorney with CUNY School of Law’s Mediation Clinic and is a Certified Mediator, Mentor and Training Coach with the New York Peace Institute (NYPI). Catherine served on the Board of Directors of the Family and Divorce Mediation Council of Greater New York (FDMC), including as the organization's President (2018-2019), and is the current Secretary with the Board of the Association of Conflict Resolution, New York chapter (ACR-GNY), and is an Accredited member of the New York State Council on Divorce Mediation (NYSCDM), and has been affiliated as a professional member of the New York Association of Collaborative Professionals (NYACP).
Catherine is also trained in Child Inclusive and Family-Centered approaches to divorce mediation and in mediating Mediation to Stay Married and Adult Family and Elder Law matters.
Catherine has presented frequently at New York area law schools since 2010 and more recently for Columbia University's Negotiation and Conflict Resolution program. She is a graduate of Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law (2010), where she was trained by competitive admission in the “Top Ten” nationally ranked Kukin Program for Conflict Resolution’s Mediation and Divorce Mediation clinics. She received her MA and BA (with Honors) in 2001 and 2002 from Stanford University.
