Treasurer

ROLE SUMMARY

The Treasurer for the Association for Conflict Resolution–Greater New York Chapter (ACR-GNY) serves as a member of the Board of Directors of ACR-GNY and also serves on the Executive Board of the ACR-GNY Board of Directors. ACR-GNY requires an entrepreneurial collaborative treasurer to help ACR-GNY expand its position and achieve the vision and mission for the next two years.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Financial Oversight

• Manage cash flow, manage accounts receivable, accounts payable and recuring expenses, categorize financial transactions accurately and administer the month-end close in QuickBooks Online (QBO).
• Develop and maintain strong internal controls and financial management policies, procedures and processes.
• Maintain and update the treasurer Standard Operating Procedure (SOP).

Financial Reporting

• Compile and present financial analysis and reports to the board, committees and other stakeholders (where applicable). This includes preparing budgets and financial projections to help the board and committees make informed decisions.

Risk Management

• Identify, assess, and mitigate financial risks such as fraud, theft, and non-compliance. Maintain policies to prevent fraud and ensure compliance with laws and regulations.

Governance

• Provide strategic leadership and oversight to strengthen and maintain robust board governance.
• Advise the board on financial strategies to meet the vision, mission and annual plan.

Financial Liaison

• Acting as the financial liaison between the board, committees and director of operations.

Revenue and Investment

• Lead the revenue strategy to grow sources of funding through membership, donors, sponsors, events and programs.
• Maximize return on cash reserves through low-risk financial instruments.
• Support Fundraising Activities
• Support financing bids for grants and sponsorships
• Lead the investment committee

Compliance

• Follow all state and IRS financial laws and regulations
