Vice President of Membership

ROLE SUMMARY

The Vice President of Membership (VP Membership) for the Association for Conflict Resolution–Greater New York Chapter (ACR-GNY) serves as a member of the Board of Directors of ACR-GNY and also serves on the Executive Board of the ACR-GNY Board of Directors.

The VP Membership is the Chairperson of the standing Membership Committee, and is responsible for overseeing the growth and development of the ACR-GNY membership and for the user experience for ACR-GNY members. The VP Membership is responsible for (1) identifying annual goals for the Membership Committee, (2) implementing measures to grow membership along metrics of volume, diversity, and perspectives, and (3) taking steps to improve communication, outreach, responsiveness, and the whole experience of membership in ACR-GNY.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Chair the Membership Committee and develop agendas for monthly Committee meetings
  • Develop and implement annual plans for increasing membership across identifiable avenues including numbers and background, racial and ethnic, geographical, and professional diversity
  • Supporting Programming and Communications Committees in promoting the interests of current and prospective members
  • Think creatively about sustainable and strategic growth for ACR-GNY
  • Provide a membership-prioritizing perspective to the ACR-GNY Board and Executive Board in all facets of ACR-GNY business
  • Serve as a decision-maker on the Executive Board relating to ACR-GNY financial, programmatic, and other issues
