Professional Bio
Dr. Tzofnat Peleg-Baker is an applied social psychologist with an expertise spanning various fields. Her work primarily revolves around improving decision-making in conflict and third-party intervention through Reflective Practice, dialogic organizations, and relational and conflict transformation, and collaborative and inclusive leadership. Tzofnat specializes in exploring implicit social-psychological barriers and helping individuals and groups develop capabilities to reconstruct and heal relationships and collaboratively make effective decisions. Her dedication to education is evident through her teaching experience, which spans across undergraduate, graduate, and MBA students.
Tzofnat’s work is deeply rooted in a diverse range of disciplines, including sociology, psychology, communication, transformative learning, human development, conflict, and philosophy, and underpinned by extensive practical experience. Tzofnat translates behavioral science research into evidence-based, practical frameworks and tools for leadership to pave the way toward constructive engagement in conflicts and differences, collaborative decision-making, and operationalizing DEIB (Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Belonging) values.
Dr. Peleg-Baker’s impact extends beyond academia, as she has provided training to politicians and government officials in Africa and third-party interveners across continents. Presently, she facilitates monthly peer learning groups, working closely with third-party interveners, Ombuds, consultants, mediators, and dialogue professionals practicing globally. She is a community and organizational mediator and an author, having contributed professional and academic articles as well as book chapters to the field.
Dedicated to peace and dialogue initiatives, Tzofnat has served as a committed board member and facilitator in organizations dedicated to peace and dialogue. Her efforts have included leading intergroup dialogues in the Middle East, fostering communication between religious and secular groups, Jews and Arabs, and Israelis and Palestinians.
In her role as the Head of Strategy at the Conflict Resolution and Mediation Center within the Israeli Ministry of Justice, Dr. Peleg-Baker played a significant role in introducing Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR), mediation, and Restorative Justice practices across various fields. Additionally, her conceptualization and implementation of democratic and dialogic educational reforms have left a profound impact on her systemic-relational approach to conflict transformation and the operationalization of diversity and inclusion. Previously, Tzofnat Peleg-Baker held the position of heading a Dispute Resolution Center (CDRC) in Queens, NYC, where she provided strategic and operational leadership while overseeing all services.
Dr. Peleg-Baker earned a Ph.D. and an M.A. in Social Psychology, an M.A. in Communications, and a B.A. in Sociology and Communication.
