Top Ten Challenges for a Corporate Ombudsman

What are the top ten challenges for an Ombudsman and why would an organization establish an office of the Ombudsman? Come hear long-time Ombudsman Janis Schonauer talk about her experiences in the field and the lessons she has learned.

Janis Schonauer is the Corporate Ombudsman for AllianceBernstein, L.P. Prior to AllianceBernstein, She was Ombudsman at two Universities, the University of California,

Irvine, and Caltech. Janis teaches classes on conflict resolution and listening skills, has written articles and promotes the ombudsman role by speaking at professional conferences. She was President of The University and College Ombuds Association in 2002 and 2003 and President of the International Ombudsman Association (IOA) in 2006-2007. Janis has a BA in Psychology from Michigan State University and a Masters in Public Administration from California State University-Fullerton. She is a Certified Organizational Ombudsman.
