Would You Let AI Mediate Your Conflict? Considering the Future
This Roundtable Breakfast Discussion will be held in person - no virtual option will be available!
Live simulation. Real dispute. Two mediators—one human, one digital.
Giuseppe De Palo will be joined by
David Bloch and
invited mediators others for this special
in-person Roundtable Breakfast Discussion.
Artificial Intelligence (AI) is no longer a distant concept—it’s present in our inboxes, our workflows, and increasingly, in our most sensitive conversations. But can AI truly understand human conflict? And more importantly, would you trust it to help resolve yours?
Join us in person for a real-time simulation that puts this question to the test. Based on a complex, real commercial dispute, this live demonstration showcases two parallel mediations: one guided by an experienced human mediator, the other led by a generative AI system trained in dispute resolution techniques. You will witness firsthand how each mediator, human vs machine, interprets emotion, nuance, and power dynamics—and how differently they guide the parties toward resolution.
This event is an invitation to see and feel the future of conflict resolution. Whether you are skeptical, curious, or somewhere in between, this side-by-side comparison offers a rare, eye-opening opportunity to reflect on what we gain—and what we risk—when we put machines in charge of human tensions. It will be a perfect opportunity to see what the buzz is about.
IMPORTANT NOTE:
While our Roundtable Breakfasts have been virtual since April 2020, we are pleased to host occasional in-person Roundtable events once again! This is our second in-person Roundtable since the COVID-19 pandemic! Join us at 8:00am for breakfast and networking; the presentation and discussion will begin at 8:30am. Details will be sent via email upon registration. This event will NOT be accessible via Zoom, though it will be recorded and posted to both the ACR-GNY and CUNY DRC websites.
Since this is an in-person event, there is limited space available. Registration this month is only for in-person attendees.
